Experimental & Prog Music Festival - part 2.  8/11/12, Photos & text by K.K.W

Part 2 of the NYX festival @ Spectrum was even better then the first part ('Stick night') featuring two bands, Little Worlds & Sarcustic, that really had a great sound and flow. I will say that I was very late in getting to the 2nd part, though I know now I still would have like them the best.
Downtown Manhattan, on the way to the
Lower East Side from the Brooklyn Bridge.
Little Worlds has a interesting sound thats exudes their influences (Rock, Jazz, Classical & improv), which becomes more evident as you listen to their current release "Book One" which is a series of reinterpretations, The   Mikrokosmos by Hungarian composer Bela Bartok.

Sarcustic is a heavy hitting, loud mind-scramble of a band. A modern throw-back to the Punk era and music of the early-mid 1990's. The groups sound is like organized chaos with a force that really overpowers you and digs you into your seat, makes you want to stomp/dance around, or frankly get-up and walk out (3-4 people did:). A few others went to the bath room and put bath-room tissue in their ears, while a few others put their ear-phones in to reduce the noise. It was great.
