@ Saint Sava

This months cover, photo,

@ The Serbian Orthodox Church of Saint Sava. Photos & text by Kerwin.

Consecrated in 1865 and designed by Richard Upjohn, it was acquired by the Serbian Orthodox church in 1943. The church is noted for its beautiful stone interior and for its lofty single aisle nave. It was added to the list of historic places in 1982.

This was my 2nd time attending the service, the 1st being with Ivana Mikavica. Listening to the liturgy in their native language really gives a great spiritual feel,
and almost makes it feel as if your not in NYC, but in Serbia. Along with the friendly people who make up the congregation, the food at the after event is wonderful. If you have time, stop by for a little bit of Serbia in New York City.
