'Bitter': A Dance performance

All photos: K.K.W-Canon IXY Digital
G1-8000

These are by far some of the best pic's with the IXY,
I used two rolls of film for this event, so I'll be posting
those as soon as I can. G1-8001

Movement and timing was a big part of this shoot
G1-8002
The IXY has a great widescreen mode, perfect for this kind of event

They were beautiful, graceful and fun to watch:)
G1-8006

I wasn't allowed to photograph their performance, this is their warm-up

This is James R Atkinson, on the left. Truly talented brother.

James(he's on face) is the Choreographer of the performance

The flexibility of dancers is amazing to behold,
And of course the tension between the groups,
so thick you could cut it and BBQ it.

G1-8021

This one of the best shots, the light, their movement
the tone and look of scene, the angles and geometry

G2-8022

Learning to work with a lack of control in-fact gives you control.
Like a director that lets the actors do their thing and
simply extracts what he wants of it.

I really like this one, it retains fluidity, but yet so still,
the two of them were beautiful together.

G1-8041

Near perfect timing on my part, the IXY shutter speed
only goes so high, Canon EOS goes much higher.
I think that learning to take pic's with timing makes for a strong foundation

Widescreen, I've always been a fan:)

Some people might not like this one, but god damn it
I think its wonderful, vibrant, and so beautiful.
Its a really 'cool' effect, simple yet beautiful to look at

I know, the bed is a little odd, but this is N.Y.C
after all,  people need to sleep somewhere.
Damn that bed looks soft and warm:)

This is another fav, I love the tones, the gentle interaction of
of the light and dark. And the people are nice too:)

G1-8088

G1-8089
This was the street(West 24th)just before the performance
started. I had a smoke and enjoyed the gentle sound of rain.

G1-8090
The crowd. Quite the little gathering. Thankfully
there were many young people in the crowd,
perhaps theres hope for the Art's in N.Y.C:)

The color tone together with the widescreen format
makes for a delicate Noir feel. For all those who wanted more
light, 'let their be light':) Cheers!

G1-8109

Their part was extremely well done, a great amount of
feeling, control, and timing.

I can't help it, dark and light, it can be so beautiful.

G1-8118

This is what it was like when I left, rain, rain, hard winds
and my umbrella barely did a bloody thing.
But it was worth it, the performance F#$king moved me.
I was alive again, full of energy:)
