The Flatbush area of Brooklyn has a lot to offer, and this past weekend of May (19-20) was no exception. Nineteen contemporary artists opened their studios, and in a way, their worlds, to the general public and their neighbors.
Along with the artwork, which was all stunning in there way, the creators themselves were every bit as interesting. Some living in the area for many years, prior to the "hipster" invasion currently underway, others within the last 6-10 years. Anyway you slice it they make, and have been making the area something so much more then a neighborhood. Through art, and all things connected to it, the area in which they live and create becomes that much more vibrant.
